Thy Kingdom Come

St Joan of Arc Catholic Church offers Catholic and non-Catholic men a program where men can talk to each other about the challenges that they face, including those from the secular world.  Men of all ages and stages of life are welcome to listen and to share thoughts at our Iron Sharpens Iron Men’s Ministry program.

We meet almost every Saturday morning in the social hall from 6:30-8 a.m. and provide breakfast. Alternatively, we meet on Wednesday evenings from 7-8:30 p.m. You may choose either one. Some men’s leadership programs that we have studied are the following:

The Bible and Virgin Mary

The Bible and Our Sacraments

Alpha

Impromptu “Coffee Shop Talk” where two or more are gathered together

Our Iron Sharpens Iron Men’s Ministry would like to personally invite you to join other men at St. Joan of Arc in our faith and fellowship enriching programs.

St Joan of Arc offers many other fellowship opportunities available to everyone; many of which are listed in our weekly Sunday bulletin. For more information about any of these, contact our parish office at (614) 761-0905.

Connect groups offer resources for small, faith-sharing groups to connect to our parish. See below for sponsored programs:

Word on Fire

Our parishioners now have access to resources from Word on Fire featuring Bishop Robert Barron who has been hailed as “one of the Church’s greatest messengers.” This includes the entire Word on Fire digital library. Bishop Barron is the founder of Word on Fire Catholic Ministries and Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. He is also the host of CATHOLICISM, a groundbreaking, award-winning documentary about the Catholic Faith, which aired on PBS. If you are already registered with our parish through Flocknote, you already have access. If not, please register at www.flocknote.com/sjoapowell or text SJOAPowell to 84576.

FORMED

FORMED is another revolutionary digital platform that gives our parish unprecedented access to video-based study programs, feature films, audio presentations and eBooks from the Church’s foremost presenters. To get started, go to www.formed.org, click sign-up, select “I Belong to a Parish or Organization” and fill in the requested information.

Insight Books

Insight books can be ordered for a nominal fee.

If you would like to join a small group, please complete this form and return it to our parish office, attention Paul Davis. If you are already in a small group that hasn’t registered with the parish, please complete the form so we can provide new information as it becomes available.

Current Studies

Opening Your Heart: Introductory Study for new participants starting September 13, 2023

This Bible study will take you on an exciting journey closer to the heart of God, help you form a personal relationship with Christ, and help you find answers to life’s biggest questions through the context of the Catholic faith.

Join us as we explore the core questions that we need to wrestle with if we want to experience all that God has for us.

  • What is the role of the Holy Spirit in my life?
  • Why and how should I pray?

Rooted and Radiant:  September 13th – December 6th, 2023 (For those who have already completed Opening Your Heart)

Through this Bible study, we dive deep into understanding who Jesus is and what that means for us. We learn how to abide in the wisdom of Christ to navigate the ever-increasing demands and messages of our culture, what it means to live in the freedom of Christ, and how to continually set our minds on Him. Join us as we explore some of the following topics that we deal with in our society today.

  • Know Jesus as He is
  • Know how to stay faithful in the middle of a culture that is constantly telling you that Christ is not enough
  • Know how to sift through the modern messages that are being thrown at you
  • Be able to compare the glamor of the world to the infinite value of “being in Christ”

Fearless and Free: December 13th – April 10th, 2024 (For those who have already completed Opening Your Heart)

This study provides a firm foundation to stand on no matter what life throws our way. With an emphasis on healing and wholeness, Fearless and Free is the most personal and transformative study that Walking with Purpose offers.

This is what we’ll discover through the pages of this study:

  • We need to WAKEN to the reality of who we are in Christ, and that we have an enemy who seeks to steal our true identity
  • We need to WRESTLE with the battle in our minds—bringing our thoughts in captivity to Christ
  • We need to be strengthened as WARRIORS so that we can move forward in life—not just surviving, but flourishing

Grounded in Hope: October 26th – April 11th, 2024 (For those who have already completed Opening Your Heart)

This study,  based on the book of Hebrews, will help you encounter Jesus in such a powerful, comforting, and stabilizing way that He can become your lifeline.

  • Long to know Jesus with greater intimacy.
  • Are you ready to grow in your trust in Him as your true source of hope?
  • Have you grown weary as you run your race, and need encouragement to persevere?

“I am a longtime active Catholic, and I have been pleasantly surprised at how much I am getting from this program. It truly speaks to the FEMALE experience and brings the meaning of the Bible (and our faith traditions) home in a personal way.”

“Walking With Purpose has enriched my journey with Jesus and brought so many amazing and faithful women into my life. I have gained an army of God-loving warriors who support me in my journey with Christ and all of life’s daily challenges.”

“When I entered WWP I was warmly welcomed. It was years ago but my life was drastically altered. My walk with Jesus became more intimate and fulfilling. I’m growing in spiritual maturity and friendship with my sisters in Christ is closer.”
