Becoming Catholic (R.C.I.A.)

For those interested in learning more about the Catholic Church or becoming Catholic, we welcome you to explore our Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA). The RCIA journey is for those adults who have never been baptized; have been baptized in a tradition other than Catholicism; or have been baptized Catholic but not confirmed. Anyone who desires to learn more about our faith is also welcome.

RCIA is a spiritual journey filled with study, reflection, prayer, and interaction within the community. Our participants are journeying toward a deeper relationship with Christ and the completion of the sacraments of initiation (baptism, confirmation, and Eucharist), as well as becoming active members of the community. RCIA meets on Thursday evenings from mid-September through the Easter Vigil for formal study, but inquirers are encouraged to begin their journey at any time of the year through personal interaction with the adult faith formation director and possibly other adult faith formation groups.

Questions or want to get started? Email Steve Callahan at RCIA@stjoanofarcpowell.org or call our parish office at 614.761.0905.
