Who We Are
The Women’s Auxiliary was founded in 2011 by several wives of the Knights of Columbus Council 10765 who recognized an opportunity for women to join in fellowship to help the Knights through service. What started as an organization to support the Knights with parish activities and Lenten Fish Fry has blossomed beyond service into a bond of friendship, spiritual support, and charitable giving.
We warmly welcome ALL women who desire to serve our church community and beyond, while growing in faith and building friendship with other women. The Auxiliary is open to women 18 years and older, who share in Catholic beliefs, have a willingness to serve and may have an affiliation with the Knights of Columbus.
What We Do
Each Fall the Women’s Auxiliary sponsors an Annual Mum sale. Early in September, the parking lot bursts with color as potted mums arrive for pre-sale pickup. With the support of this single fundraiser, the Auxiliary provides support to women, children, and families of our parish and community.
Service and friendship work hand in hand as members work together to provide Mother’s Day gifts to underserviced women of Vinton County, pack food for school-aged children, adopt an STO parish family for Christmas, and brighten the day of parish homebound and those in local nursing communities with cards and small gifts.
Together we have made a pilgrimage to the National Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation, toured the Josephinum, attended the Women’s conference, and supported priests and those called to a religious vocation. We have invited speakers to expand our awareness on topics that impact our community, including Help My Neighbor local food pantry, the Christ Child Society, Family Mentor Foundation, I Support the Girls and others.
