Music Ministry

There are many options available to participate in enhancing the Mass through excellence in musical presentation.

The Parish Choir

The Parish Choir is comprised of adult volunteers of all singing abilities. They sing a variety of sacred music ranging from chant and polyphony to music by living Catholic composers. Reading music is not a prerequisite to joining the St. Joan of Arc Parish Choir. The mission of the Parish Choir is to support congregational singing and enhance the liturgy with a high standard of musical leadership. They sing at the 9:30 am Mass on Sundays beginning in September and continuing to May, as well as special holy days and solemnities. Weekly rehearsals take place in the church on Wednesdays, 7-9 pm.

Cantors

Cantors must have a strong and melodic singing voice, an understanding of liturgy, and the confidence to sing in front of the entire congregation. Cantors are strongly encouraged to be members of the Parish Choir, and will require an audition and training sessions with the Director of Sacred Music.

Instrumental Ensembles

Parishioners who play strings, woodwinds, or brass are encouraged to contact the Director of Sacred Music to share their talents with the parish.  We would love to have you be a part of our program, whether you play regularly or just for special events.

A Bethlehem Carol (ABC)

Our annual nativity play is performed by our parish children, in grades 1-8. Rehearsals are on Thursday evenings from the middle of October until the first Saturday in December when the show takes place. Consider having your child be a part of this annual tradition!
